Part 3: Why Is the Correct Affiliation So Important?

Publications are a key currency in academia. For them to have an impact, they must be discoverable. Consistent affiliation information helps enormously in this regard: it improves indexing in databases such as “Dimensions,” “Google Scholar,” “Scopus,” and “Web of Science,” and increases international visibility. You benefit directly from this, for example, when applying for jobs or external funding. At the same time, every correctly attributed publication strengthens OVGU’s reputation. In short: A clear affiliation makes your research more measurable, visible, and impactful—both for you personally and for the university as a whole.
