An open door always changes two people

Sometimes social responsibility begins with a single open door. At the end of June, the University Library opened its doors to an experienced librarian from Ukraine, who was able to gain initial insights into everyday life in a German library as part of a work trial. Encounters like these are far more than just internships. They embody our university’s Third Mission: to share knowledge, enable participation, and actively help shape social cohesion. Especially in a time of growing polarization, hope and trust arise where people give each other opportunities.
