Scientists of the OVGU can now publish their articles Open Access as corresponding authors at the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) without article processing charges. The corresponding publication costs are covered by the University Library. Likewise, the UB will take care of all administrative issues.
When submitting your articles, please make sure to correctly indicate the affiliation and use your university email address. In case of doubt, the affiliation to the OVGU will be checked by the University Library using an appropriate workflow.

How does it work? Book an appointment via the OVGU eLearning portal and receive a Zoom link.
Follow this link for access to the eLearning portal (using your URZ account). Please consider that this service can only be offered to OVGU members.
- After your orders have been processed, we will contact you by mail to arrange an individual pick-up date (Mon - Fri from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
- The handover will take place contactless at the main entrance of the university library. Please bring your user card with you.
- We will do our best to provide your orders as soon as possible.
Existing loans can be renewed up to 7 times. Media can also be returned after getting an appointment from the circulation desk.

Digital Campus Delivery Service (for students, lecturers, and researchers of the OVGU): the library scans articles of journals or anthologies from the library's holdings in accordance with copyright law and makes them available digitally. Read more.
Digital Semester Apparatus (for OVGU lecturers and students): the library scans articles from journals, anthologies or small parts of monographs from the library's holdings in accordance with copyright law and makes them available in digital form on the e-learning platform to be used in lectures, seminars, and courses in general. E-book request: If a book is urgently needed that is available as an e-book in bookstores, the library will try to acquire it as an e-book. Please make an informal purchase suggestion directly to the subject librarian responsible for the respective subject (find your contact person). Or use our web form.
Digital Campus Standards Delivery Service CaNoLi and Patent Information Center (for OVGU - members): Standards, guidelines, technical rules and TGL standards can be ordered via this service. In addition to open access articles, the University Library also supports open access monographs. Under certain conditions, the publication costs (Book Processing Charges, BPCs) for previously unpublished open access monographs and anthologies are covered.

In 2021, the Ebsco media portal additionally offers the Department of Psychology a selection of over 580 eBooks with in-demand titles in neuropsychology, cognitive psychology, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, social psychology, evolutionary psychology, developmental psychology, and more.

The COVID pandemic has interrupted normal (campus) life. Especially for freshmen, this means they can't get to know the new city and people the way they did in previous years.

Registered students of OVGU can also register online at the university library if they are unable to attend: Please send the scan of your identity card (Passport and document of your residence) and student card (passport an student card both sides) to firstname.lastname@example.org The library registration is necessary to use digital media like e-books or papers.
The University Library now offers all university members access to the platform O'Reilly for Higher Education (formerly Safari Books Online). Over 45,000 eBooks from O'Reilly and more than 200 other publishers (e.g. Wiley, Pearson) from the fields of computer science and business are available there. In addition, practical knowledge can be acquired and deepened in video tutorials and case studies of large companies.
Access to the platform is provided via the URZ account (Shibboleth). Please note that it is not possible to download or print the eBooks. However, the O'Reilly app allows offline access to previously saved titles.
